Chris Kerala Varma

I am Chris Kerala Varma, a member of the Cochin Royal Family. My roots are in Kerala, and my upbringing has instilled in me a deep connection to its culture and heritage. I feel it's important to acknowledge that the diverse cultural identities within the Indian subcontinent , including that of Kerala, are facing a risk of being overshadowed. Preserving and celebrating these unique traditions is something I care deeply about.

Beyond cultural preservation, I am also driven by a desire to contribute to the progress of humanity in a tangible way. I am particularly interested in the potential of scientific and technical advancements, especially in areas like senolytic medicine and longevity research. I believe that supporting research in these fields holds immense promise for improving human health and well-being. This is why I am actively involved with the Human Progress Foundation, hoping to contribute to meaningful breakthroughs.

My father’s guidance has been fundamental to shaping my understanding of leadership and service. He taught me the true essence of leadership lies in serving others, particularly those who are vulnerable or marginalized – to be a voice for the voiceless and to help those who are helpless. This is a principle I strive to live by.

While I am mindful of my family's history and wish to honour it, my primary focus is not on personal grandstanding or representation. I am guided by a sense of purpose that feels deeply meaningful, almost divinely inspired. My aim is to work earnestly towards the betterment of humanity, contributing to progress and positive change in whatever way I can. Ultimately, I believe in working together for the greater good of all people.
